Pune, Maharashtra, India

This is a five star luxury business hotel conceived as the city’s premier hospitality property. Commissioned by India’s leading hotelier, the structure will house 235 luxurious rooms and suites, a spa and health centre and a banquette area covering 15,000 square feet.

The Taj Blue Diamond hotel Pune is one of the city’s famous Five Star hotel properties. Located off  Koregaon Park, it has ideally placed to capture both the tourist and business market. Being the Taj Groups only property in Pune it was decided to revamp the entire outlook besides doubling the facilities and room numbers. The only hitch was that all the modifications and additions be done whilst the hotel was in operation.

Historically, the building was never designed as a top of line hotel, but it was a guest house building acquired by Taj, expanded (Vertically) and upgraded to a five star property. So not only was the structure to be retained/revamped but it’s façade totally integrated along with the new building built adjacent to it. Along with a team of designers CCBA, worked out a bold new identity, both externally and interior space wise which would rejuvenate the property and give it and identity amongst the other upcoming Pune hotels.

New facilities include a two tier basement, a new kitchen and 600 seater Banquet halls (Divisible into 3 smaller halls). The banquet halls would have their own lobby and drop off area and over hundred rooms of international standard. A revamped lobby and pool was added to the existing building. All these were tied together with a Jalli based exterior and a ‘sky atria’ designed has a glass lean to and running across the entire façade of the site.
