On November 21, 2024, the South Lawns of CEPT University in Ahmedabad became the stage for a momentous occasion—the launch of Great Expectations: Notes to an Architect. This event marked a significant milestone, as CEPT University was not only the venue but also the starting point of Prof. Christopher Benninger’s illustrious architectural journey.
The gathering was graced by eminent figures, including Prof. Barjor Mehta, President of CEPT University, and Dr. Bimal Patel, principal architect and planner at HCP, who penned the foreword to the book. Both shared heartfelt reflections on Prof. Benninger’s enduring impact on the architectural profession.
Adding a deeply personal touch, Mr. Ramprasad Akkisetti, Managing Director of CCBA Designs, delivered a poignant address. Reflecting on his journey with Prof. Benninger during the creation of the first book (Letters to a Young Architect), he delved into the challenges, insights, and the profound learnings that emerged. Mr. Akkisetti also emphasized the expectations Prof. Benninger has from us all.
The book itself, a blend of philosophy, professional wisdom, and deeply personal anecdotes, was meticulously edited by Mr. Karan Gandhi, a CEPT alumnus who has been a member of the CCBA Designs team for nearly two years.

As the audience, comprising students, faculty, and professionals, gathered under the evening sky, the atmosphere was one of inspiration and reverence for the remarkable legacy of a master architect.
